Protecting
Endangered Andean Tapirs
Through our concept CCC: Community Conservation Centers,
we aim to conserve and protect the endangered Mountain Tapir
The endangered Tapirus Pinchaque or “Sacha Huagra” in indigenous Quechua is of incredible value for safeguarding and regenerating the forest high in the Colombian Andes.
Besides serving as an umbrella species, Tapirs are called gardeners of the forest, as some seeds only germinate if the Tapir eats them.
